Sharing this with you guys so if any are deciding to get one of these elusive 75's (or 90's) from Petco to watch carefully what you get.
I had purchased one of these Aqueon tanks a while back from Petco at the half priced sale and it was a bit rough with some scratches in the frame but faced towards the back , no real issue. Of course very sloppy silicone work.
Some months elapsed and new sale came into play and I was ready for the next 75 gallon for my project. Tank was purchased and brought home. I wasnt quite ready to put it on stand so a month went by before I could get to it... then I spotted the issue with the tank.

This was not noticed until the tank was picked up and placed on the stand. It had a huge crack in the middle of the frame. I had my receipt but it had now been past a month, so what would the store do? Here is where the customer service was outstanding. Even though it was just past 30 days they took the tank back. They had no 75g replacements in stock so they offered me the 90 gallon in stock at the 1/2 price sale even though the sale was over. So for $100 more I got the 90g. Very friendly, helpful staff and manager. Of course I went with the 90.
Even with a good inspection at store by myself and a store employee... found the 90 also has cracks in frame that were not spotted until I got it home in my garage. I called Sunday night before closing (6:58pm) and no replacement is available, both 75's and 90 out of stock. I left my phone umber and contact info and was told I would be called. I will give them credit that they answered their phone that close to closing (2 min. till) and were friendly.

Calling the store found out they had a shipment of tanks coming in that week and 90's and 75's were coming. The day the order came in I called and spoke with the assistant manager and the store had received two 90 gallon tanks! Hooray right? lol, not my luck. Both have cracked frames! But they had like 9-10 75g tanks that came in too. Off to the store yet again for an exchange.
Get to the store and the manager is awesome but they do have transportation issues on their tanks. Apparently they are double stacking pallets on shipments and the 90's make the perfect base to stack a second pallet of tanks on. I decided to go back to my original plan of a 75 and forget the 90. As Im looking at the 75g tanks, one is already marked as 'reptile only', another has a glass chip in the edge, two have cracks in the plastic frames in lower corners that you can tell are assembly related, at least three have what appears as bubbles in the silicone seams. I guess I lucked out that I found one I could take home in good shape.
Getting it home I noticed this 75 was very well done overall but now I see something else when I compare the previous 75 to the new...
Newer 75g - sorry angle not the greatest but notice a nice thick 3/8" glass
The 75g form the last Petco sale -again sorry for bad angle but you can see 3/16" glass
For those wondering on my need for multiple 75's, here is my project still in progress. Its very close to done now.It is a Dewalt garage rack with two 75's, two 65B's, one 30g.
Sorry for the long post but just wanted to give you guys a heads up to pay close attention to what you are getting with these larger Petco sale tanks. Aqueon is having some bad quality control issues and sloppy silicone work. Petco is not transporting tanks well and this is also resulting in damage. Hope this helps any who are interested.
