Just to let you know that the product was taken off the shelf by August 10Th and is "recalled" which means they send it back the district warehouse. I'm sure they sent it back to the manufactures that produce it. You will not see any of it on clearance. I agree that there is another motive here then to be "politically correct". We never used to carry Micro-Lift products and now we have a whole line of it.
Like Oscarcrazy said I didn't post this thread to slam Petco, but to inform and give you a place to post your comments. Although they say in the article that it was well thought out, I have to disagree. They never asked anyone "that matters" if it would be a good idea. Sometimes on their Portal ( their inter office network) they post surveys or polls. I never once seen one to ask even the employees if they thought it was a good idea. It is too bad that the public can not read the comments that the employees left on the new policy. Very few were positive and the regional mangers seemed to be getting upset with all the negative comments left.
Although I am not a big supporter of antibiotics, (I haven't used any in over 12 years) I still feel there is a place and time that they are needed and that the consumer should have a choice. I believe that the employees should be better trained to help the customers correctly identify a problem. After that they can still carry the product but have it where you have to ask the associate for the product.
I know that most people think that Petco employees are idiots, and believe me I have seen my share, not all are. With this move by the company, I feel that they not only believe that the consumers are idiots but so are their employees.
