Petco is unbelievable!

The manager caring depends on the store... most of them don't....
my previous general manager who was there for years before he left didn't care about anything ....at all..... it was a wonder that he was a manager at all
but our new manager that took over when he left is all about GOOD animal care and customer service and everything being the way it SHOULD be....
 
Well, you can threaten the store manager about going higher up. You can't threaten corporate.
 
personally, i would've just asked for a manager and talked to them before you left. most managers do believe in customer service and won't let a customer walk out irate unless they feel the customer is being unreasonable. you were not being unreasonable. going through corporate would take longer to get the problem solved. you may be able to get the manager to let you do the exchange at your petco.
 
Definitely pursue it...there's no reason they shouldn't have exchanged it for you, considering you brought it right back and have no prior record with them. They can even get credit for it, so there is no loss on their part.

Think that's on you Bro.... I would AND ALWAYS look at things before I purchase them. Lesson learned if you are going to buy it OPEN IT up to ensure EVERYTHING is ok.
 
crazy well id go up the chain like previously stated but it might be your guys petco/petsmart i havent been to my local one which is a 3 hour trip to saginaw/traverse city..but ill go there sometime eventually..but still back to the main topic i think its still dumb they did that
 
you can't threaten corporate but they will do anything... ANYTHING to keep customers happy.... thats why people get away with so much ridiculous crap in the stores.... and I'm not saying you are... your one of the actual valid customer complaints... probably 80% of them aren't -.-

Wow, I never open boxes at the store. I hate shopping...I get it, pay for it and go home. Usually, when I do go, I buy multiple things. I can imagine all the odd looks I would get standing at the end of the register opening each box and taking everything out to insure it's all there and not broken.

When you buy something, you expect to get what's expected. The OP doesn't deserve a "lesson learned". He got screwed plain and simple.

Hopefully Petco steps up and makes it right. I am sure they will.
