Petco special ordering fish

Sooooo i need to point out that im going with my local petco BECAUSE all other fish stores are too far away for me.
I want to get 1 little pea puffer for my 10 gallon planted tank. I wanted to know will petco do any special ordering for me. And if possible will anyone know what will be the pricing of the pea puffer thx.

Not all petshops will do this since they can't usually get one fish, they have to get a bag (could be many depending on the supplier) of said species to break even. They rarely do this since they can be left with excess that they can't sell and therefore lose money. It would be best to contact your local petco directly to find out what they can organise and what it will cost you. Best of luck with finding your fish!

Pea puffers are a common enough fish that you might be able to. I second what Hendre said though and would recommend speaking with who ever orders fish for your local PS. Murder Beans on average are about $10.

I agree with both Hendre and Itsadeepbluesea . I personally have had and asked a couple of big box stores like Petco special order a fish for me. Had a assistant manager ordered the single fish I wanted and she did, I also worked for the store at that time. Most stores won't do it because they have been lied to when people promise to buy and purchase their orders. Like stated don't see a fish distributor sending 1 Pea Puffer.

Definitely hit up your Petco. Get in good with the manager of the aqua section if the store is good. We have about 5 in the city 4 are trash one is a gem. I have done lots of custom ordering here. I have received discounts as well on multiple fish in the past. Pea puffers sell so they will likely bring them in for you. If you have more than one call around the aquatics managers are pretty much in charge of this section of the store independently from other branches.

Fun fact our gem store recently brought in a TSN as a custom, he was holding it for a guy for about a week until he could get it feeding on demand for the customer, Pretty cool to see in a Petco!
