If 4 dollars is enough to make you think a whole company sucks, you are in the wrong hobby. Petco is what it is. They gave me a free bag of cat food. Do they suck for that. It is all about perception. I think they serve their purpose just fine. Go somewhere else if you do not like the prices.

I would be jumping for joy if I could get a socolofi at that size for $4. Most african cichlids are around 2-3" in size near me and cost anywhere between $10-$20. Each.

they also have those orange fish in the assorted african tank. you know which ones i'm talking about? they look like socolofi, but i've never heard of an orange one! or are they red zebras?
I like Petco for their equipment and Pig ears for my dog. I haven't purchased any fish there though so I can't speak to that. I'm in Katy Texas and fairly close to my home is a place called fishland. I bought all my fish there and always pay about $4 - $6. I give them all my business and so they always throw in a couple fish, It's really cool.
how big should i let them get before i let them out of the breeder net? my other fish are all between 1.5-3.5". the fish in the breeder net are between .5-1"
