So after I hit the gym I went to petco. I was in the reptile section and there was a couple and a petco employee talking about the reptile the couple just purchased yesterday. They said they bought a fairly large lizard and it almost died earlier today. The petco employee asked what was wrong with the lizard and they said they did not know. The husband said it was dying when his wife was at work and was sitting close by the lizard and poking it to "keep him alive". The wife then said she did not want to keep the lizard anymore because keeping it cost too much. After she said that the husband said "Okay when we get home we might as well shoot the lizard in the head". I was like what?!?! 
I then turn and looked at the petco employee and she was shocked. The couple then was talking about how the lizard cost more than the supplies and that they are going to get a pet ferret. She told the couple that ferrets were illegal and he said that his friend is going to give him one. The petco employee was trying to help them out but they were being rude. The people at my petco are pretty knowledgeable about animals. I hope this couple wont buy and "try" to keep animals anymore...
