Do like the local Petco does around here-recommend people to a better store. We joke about it, but petco employees always send customers to my store. Congrats on the new job though.

well, we got some manager specials on dog and cat food. with a petco card, some lady came in, bought 5-6 HUGE bags of food and payed 84 cents for it. We really dont have much and im kind of disappointed with the fish section, but I literally, in only 5 hours at the cash register, moved a few grand through.
i get 20% off everything at the store, plus i can just rip off a 10% final purchase, so i can save a good amount off anything i buy.
I've got a pretty funny story today from work. Some lady and her son who just happen to be black are at where we keep the ferrets and start playing with them. So an employee goes up to them and tells them nicely that they cant play with the ferrets and such and puts them back into their caged area and then asks them if they need any help. They say no so the employee goes to tell the manager if its alright that they play with the ferrets.
Well, this lady totally flips out when the girl walks away from her, and starts walking after the girl, and when she walks by me says "that was white of you" referring to her. She flips out etc. then gives other customers bad info, etc. she leaves.
So my manager, who is awesome, tells us the next time somebody plays a race card with us, to just say, "tell them that your parents are black, and you were adopted when you were three months, then tell them you have a brother called tyrone who plays the violin", then to say "im sorry but i cant help you" the entire time making it out to seem like your crying".
Not sure how funny you guys will find the story but i found it hilarious

its really not that bad, we do our best to take care of the animals for the period of time that they're with us, and hopefully the people that buy them do the same. But honestly, a lot of people treat some animals like ****, most with fish though 
Only thing I like about Petco is the one up here has the super cool ultra modern fish setup. My store has old school sponge filters, blech. But yeah, petco sucks, they move in and drive the small lfs out of buisness. If they pull it off, everyone will have a choice of 6 different fish and thats it. ugh. Think walmart
