They look like they are actually smiling. This species is new to me, thank you for sharing! They are beautiful.

Thanks, I see the reds occasionally but yeah these guys are hardy ever seen around here

Yep, no split fins, missing scales nothing, went really well.

The female doesn't have very many spots on her tail or like you said above the lateral line. She also seems to have a series of dark blotches below her dorsal and richer reds in the fins.

Plus their tubes dropped within a few hours so that was a quick give away

Thanks, he's impressive when he flares his gills, head doubles in size

18 hours! Talk about instant gratification the fish are stunning and should be great parents congrats. Dan ye and John have excellent quality wild stock.
