I was at my local Petsmart the other day, and noticed that you have to sign a contract now for any fish that will get large over time. Paroon Shark, Red Belly Pacu, and Banded Leporinus. Has anyone else noticed this? Any more info?

I'm shocked you can get those fish at Petsmart regardless of the conditions and waivers you sign. I've never heard of them carrying paroons
your petsmart is attempting to cover themselves against some liability. perhaps that store had some issue with a larger fish. who knows? but, that's not a national program. i was just at petsmart on monday and saw someone purchase a black ghost knife with no such contract.

lol. They going to send someone to your house once a month to find out if you are within contract regulations, and that your housing your large fish properly? haha,..highly doubt it. So when it comes down to it, its a wasted piece of paper you signed?

im guessing its says they informed you. and that this time you should have actually paid attention. it shouldnt be there job to baby sit you, the fish is now your responsibility.[enjoyable_attempt];3618127; said:

It helps deter people from purchasing these species that get huge. You then know it is getting big you signed a contract and there should be less of a suprise? Idk.. I'm going with them trying to save their butt over something that could happen.
