I saw them at Pet Supermarket over a year ago for $9.99 each. They kept getting them in at that price for a few months and then they were tapped out. I've never seen these Pet Supermarket ebjd full grown so I don't know how they look as adults. It's probably just luck of the draw with them from these chain stores. Who knows? You could end up with a rather nice fish from Petsmart. $9.99 isn't a big investment when it comes to purchasing cichlids. If you purchased one or two to grow them out, you wouldn't be in the hole for much of anything. But as Clockwork suggested, if you are able to buy quality Ebjd from a member in your area, go for it. At least then you may be able to see the parents.
I worked for petsmart as a petcare manager and I can assure you they are real EBJDs, but not quality. We got them in twice and then never got them again. Everyone that bought them came backk super pissed cuz they all seemed to die around 3". Im not sure if this batch they are sendingg in will be anythe better.So i would avoid them and get them from one of the good EBJDs breeders on here.
how is that possible they might be blue genes if that for example their red texas look like trimac hybrids and a few alright looking flowerhorns in which red texas don't have red eyes but there's no way they could afford to sell a $40 fish for $10 bucks

I remember seeing a bunch of threads pop up about petsmart ebjds, and most being death threads, I remember people saying they would lose 2/3 every time.
Why wouldnt it be possible? Their supplier is segrest farms which actually has some beautiful fish, and as price goes, it happens because they are the Walmart of fish. They sell Frontosa for like 17$ and some quality kamfa (mislabeled red Texas) for 7$.

yeah we had them in arizona a picture of one that i grew out 9.99 quality wasnt the greatest but hey 9 bucks...
cool man hardcore evidence for electrics reason i asked was cause beccas profile pic did you happen to see any others when you got that deal you can usually tell between eb's and bg's before their an inch long
