Petsmart getting better?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
glad to hear there getting better!

Petsmart is getting better, but no major leaps yet. I am slowly seeing smarter employees, better service, and higher quality fish.

Sorry to be a downer but a petsmart near i was thinking of striped rafeals for my aunts tank and the guy comes up and says "you know all catfish are algae eaters."

My best experience with petco was buying 2 aqua clear 500 filters worth at least $80 each for only $24 each (when I realized the mistake I had to go and buy the second one lol) do to some discount error they had in the register... So sometimes I am thankfull for their ignorance lol but actually, the one near me went from being horrible (all the fish had ick) to great the last time I went the employee gave helpful advise and all the fish looked healthy I was amazed!! Mabye they have been checking out MFK forums =)

The petsmart by me has good healthy looking fish. Some of the employees are ok and some just plain dont know though. The petco is a diff story here though......there is one kid who keeps SA cichlids that doesn know his stuff though. Hit or miss kinda deal I think...

petco near me is getting alot better. they are actually have a batfish available that has been alive for a good amount of time. but the petsmart near me is horrible, they'll sell you a pacu for a 30 gal tank (says it right on their card).

thanks for sharing this uplifting story! I wonder if we will get a newbie posting a pissed off message about how the guy at the store refused to sell them a fish hahaha!

Just like everyone on here has said. It is 90% employees/managers of the particular store in question. I have five petsmarts within a 30 minute drive for me. Three suck, would never buy anything from them and 2 are awesome. On the flip side to that I also have five mom and pops and 3 of them suck with 2 good ones. Petsmart is just an easy target for people to blame and ripoff.

But to be honest I should say I do have a vested interest in petsmart.
