PetSmart has RTC's ??? For $3.99

I got a call today from a friend who was at petsmart and found what he thought was a RTC for $3.99 :WHOA: It was labled .........CATFISH. I figured it was a Raphael but he assured me it was was just like "the ones I like" but tiny. I told him to buy it and drop it off , which he did and believe it or not ..... it is a RTC :headbang2 About 2" long and kinda chubby. What a score. And delivered too. They only had one and the girl bagging knew nothing of it other than it was a $3.99 catfish. :D

That sucks that they're selling them, but good for the fish if you got him I suppose:)
 
i agree.. the store is really doing an injustice to this beautiful cat.. hope you have a huge tank for it and be prepared that it will grow and eat what ever fish you have in with him.. stores should not be stocking these.. they should be on special order to the right fish keeper only because almost all RTC are doomed .. as are pacus and many others . But for you it is a good deal and i hope you have yours for many years to come..
 
Thats crazy....Petsmart should of know better but wait its a Corp Fish Store they dont know or care if they do know!!!I can see it NOW 100'S OF 10G WITH 24"rtc HANG OUT THE SIDES SAYING "FEED ME SEMORE"
 
I would like to see a pic because we do not carry or have any plans (that I know of) to carry RTC. Even the giant gouramis we got are not the true giants. Must have been a wholesaler error.
 
Yeah...Petsmart have terrible people working in the fish department. I once scored a RTC that they sold to me as an Aenus Cory and the guy told me that they (the cories) get as big as a common pleco at 6" :screwy: And I only paid $1.63 for it.
 
I know this is a huge problem but am I the only one who sees the irony in people saying .... this species shouldnt be sold but..... GOOD SCORE!! (Great price!).

If the fish is bought promptly, why wouldnt the shop order in another? And its not as if you dont know how big this fish gets right? Mind you, I am just jealous. - You dont want to know how much mine cost.
 
ohh god no don't tell me there going to sell them now i hope it was a fluke they will probly say they get a foot or two but nice score i hope its the only one petsmart gets thow
