i got both of these plecos from the high fin spotted pleco bin.. the larger was 9 inches before he went to a LFS in a 110 gallon display tank.
the second i still have he is 5 years old and about 6 inches long...not a normal sail fin.

it was Id as a Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus.... maybe it "should be" but it is well cared for and just does not seem to be growing. he might be closer to 7 but i doubt it.
I meant no disrespect, and by no means was I doubting your ability to care for your fishy friends. I apologize if it came off that way. I was just surprised because mine was around 8" in the first year. Yours looks very fat and happy, I guess its just a smaller specimen.
Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus top out at 12" SL.
According to PC you're right, however I measured mine when I moved about 2 months ago and it was a little over 12" SL. I haven't even had it 3 years and it is still growing. I know msmasspoly has one proving PC wrong too. This isn't the 1st case of misinformation from them. I still love the website though. Hands down the best pleco site!
