I think they are almost always going to be cheaper on ebay...

Or on craigslist...nothing wrong with a gently used FX5/Eheim/AC for 1/2 off or less :headbang2

Okay angelfish, Algea eater, and some tetras. A bunch of supplies are on sale. After January 3rd there having another sale on differnt fish.

It's odd how the quality of Petsmart/Petco fish go up during a sale. This forum is full of threads and posts bashing the stores, the employees, the livestock...on and on. Yet, everytime there's a sale, we all rush out to the store, then come back here and brag about our purchases.

I guess that we are like our fish - opportunistic and temperamental.

I prefer Fickle
so wats for sale

pretty good sale i went yesterday to check it out, Fluval E-series heaters are all at least 5 bucks off, gonna grab one of these when i get to my store tomorrow. Also, marineland filters are all either 20% or 25% off, I think 25, that includes the canisters as well. AC 30s and 50s are also slightly on sale, and most if not all omega one foods are on sale too.

They're also doing tetras for a dollar each again

I would rather spend my $$ at the local Ma and Pa shop any day.

If you think their prices are too high, ask them to meet the box store. It never hurts to ask.

No offences to anyone on here but corperate chains like petsmarts or petco are just like wal-mart if we all get together we can stop the neglect of fish and stupidity on there employess parts. So please don't shop at these chains,Lets show them thats it's not ok to sell fish just to sell fish and make them actually do there part at not selling fish to sell them (just like they do with other animals) be responsible and do your part and thank you.

I hear this a lot, but I've honestly never had a bad experience at my local Petsmart. The employees are always on top of the game and the fish are always in great shape (feeders aside).

I agree with that at my petsmart on fish. Besides having the standard signs that say the too small of tank sizes the workers seem to know a good bit. There is rarely dead fish in there tanks and the advice I have been giving is not too bad. Now on reptiles they know absolutely nothing. There is another chain store around thats terrible though. Its more about the knowledge had by people working in the store than the chain in general.

Ya, and we will never stop them from hiring bad employees. Sure there are 50,000 members on MFK, but there are 300 million people in the U.S that aren't.
