Petsmart sale after Christmas!

No offences to anyone on here but corperate chains like petsmarts or petco are just like wal-mart if we all get together we can stop the neglect of fish and stupidity on there employess parts. So please don't shop at these chains,Lets show them thats it's not ok to sell fish just to sell fish and make them actually do there part at not selling fish to sell them (just like they do with other animals) be responsible and do your part and thank you.

I much more prefer my local LFS. For every $10 I spend at Petsmart, I spend $100 at LFS. But sometimes, a good deal is just too good to pass up (10 gallon tank/lid/light/filter for $19...makes a great nursery!). At the same time, I will stop in the LFS and drop $200 for a Cichlid breeding group.

Even if every single member of MFK stopped going into Petsmart/Petco...they wouldn't even notice. Every time I am there, there are 5 other Customers buying fish. And as someone else said, I actually like and respect the employees at the stores I visit. They are knowledgable and friendly. lol, even they go to the LFS when they need or want something.

It's odd how the quality of Petsmart/Petco fish go up during a sale. This forum is full of threads and posts bashing the stores, the employees, the livestock...on and on. Yet, everytime there's a sale, we all rush out to the store, then come back here and brag about our purchases.

Well, the ones that do all of the complaining shouldn't shop at these places. Those of us that don't mind Petsmart and Petco are glad to find a deal. I honestly have no problems with either store. I don't condone all of their methods but they are generally ok with me. If I find a good deal, I like to share it with everyone here.

I work at my Petsmart, but other than lame bread and butter fish I go and ask my LFS to order in cool fish wouldn't have my Afro if it wasn't for Fish Heaven or my Endli if it weren't for my LFS(actually if it weren't for Pleco123 I wouldn't be on MFK ...

Chain Stores have there place in bringing cheaper prices on dry goods AC110 is on sale for $74.99 (all AC are 15% off) and LFS are there for less bread and butter stuff(Massivore, Jumbo Carnisticks, Oddball and Nano fish etc) and larger selections

Honestly I love my petsmart the staff there are very good and know alot. Corporate is actually very strick on them and they have rules to not sell fish to someone who has the wrong setup or to small of a tank. My experiances there have always been good and the fish there are usually always healthy only had a few bad ones but who doesnt. I still do shop at the LFS to order rare fish and get dog stuff but even at the LFS they will refer me to petsmart if they dont have it and they have petsmart employees come in all the time to get things and they all get along.

We have a new Petsmart here as of the last year. I truly enjoy going there. I picked up a ton of stuff on the after xmas sale and saved a lot of money. Sure, I could have bought things online, but I prefer to actually take it off the shelf with my own hands and have it home and set up the day I buy it.

They employees at my local Petsmart are knowledgeable and inquire about customers tank setups before a sale. All of their fish are in healthy condition. Have never seen any deformities or stunting.

Although their selection is good, I still go to my 2 favorite mom and pop LFS for the rare stuff.
