i would have told him that the average wieght of a petsmart employe should be under 100 lbs all u have to do is lock them in a closet and slide a slice of bread under the door when u feel like it keeps them the size u want

i hope not they will be flowerhorns MABYE 1 or 2 trimacs if you lucky it wouldn't make me mad if they new what fish they have i have had that argument many times yes if you put a big cichlid in a 20 gallon tank it will get stunted because most people that would do that don't take good care of them the water quality will be low and the fish will be stuted but what the people at petsmart don't under stand is a stunted fish doesn't live as long as a healthy one people there don't know fish can live 10 years and alot can live much longer

what i don't under stand is how they can label there fish like they do who makes those things the ones that say common plecos get 6'' and midas cichlids only get 8''

I predict Petsmart will create a Trimac description label stating "Max size-6".

Look at their other labels. I confronted my local Petsmart about that once and here's how it played out:

Me: You guys' label says the max size of the GT is 6" and they grow up to 10". Also the they JD, Midas, and Oscar are wrong too.

Employee: What size tank do you have?

Me: I have a 13" Midas and a 10" GT in a 135 gallon tank and have previously kept all of these fish.

Employee: That's the problem. Your tank is too big. If you keep these fish in a 10 or 20 gallon like most our customers do, the max size would be correct.

Me: Bwaaaagh!!

yes it seems they don't have to have any training or knowledge of what there doing one lady told these people that there dragon gobys were dyeing because they need to be kept in groups she said nothing about salt and when they asked about what to feed them she said you can feed them alge wafers and you can feed them feeders but they might start eating the other fish you have when they said they have a 30 gallon tank she just wen't on bagging the tinfoil barbs and bala sharks they wanted

The pathetic stories never end, people buying bala sharks for 5 gallon aquariums and if they get too big they will put them in the backyard 75 gallon pond with the goldfish.
