Mine eat krill and floating small cichlid pellets from day one. you could alwasy try again, just vary your diet, and make sure that have a chance to get to the food.

Nah...I had an Albino for awhile and then I was thinking of getting either a Delhezi or an Endli, but I ended up getting a Long Fin Sen from the meet. It's doing real good, but it's bigger than the ones that Petsmart selling. I think it would probably be easier finding one that's over 3"

i didnt know they sold bichir at petsmart....... ill keep that in mind, although i prolly wouldnt buy them from petsmart. it seems like when i go into petsmart i always end up teaching them something....

well i bought two last night and this morning i noticed one of them is missing a pectoral fin. he swims fine and is very active. should i take him back kinda fell sorry for the little guy

If it's swimming fine and everything, I wouldn't take it back. Many fish live without fins, eyes, etc. Just makes them unique.

i've only seen senegals but i check them out each time would be cool to find something else there

i would probably stay away from any petsmart when buying any polypterus.. just cause they really have no idea how big they get, temp, etc and the Sens there are usually really small and malnourished. I went to a local one (Big Als) where they know everything about that type of fish.
