Petting my Aro

mine seems to be afraid of my hands , cos whenever im cleaning the interior of the tank... it will stay far away frm me! but feeding time im not tat sure if i want to put my hands in...

What are the risks of "de-sliming" your Aro when petting?

Then go easy on the petting, don't rush it

Mine just allows me to brush my hand against him slightly. He doesn't like to be touched. He likes to keep his distance, about half a feet away.

mine will actually rub against my arm when i'm doing water changes....its about 24" long

If you have the tank in a quite place in your house, where you never walks past. The aro will be jumpy. If you have the tank in a room, where it`s people all the time. The aro will be used to all the movement around it, and will be less jumpy when you move around the tank for cleaning.

anyone have any tips on how to get their fish used to them?
I have a tank in my bedroom and the fish in there are SO scared, even of me, but the tank right next to them has fish which love me lol.
They have been in there for about 1 month.
