PH levels

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
are you using the liquid or powder Cloram-X

ya, the liquid is a little more than the powder. You can get it up to 5 gal bottles, but to me the powder semed a better deal for how much ou can get out of it.

well in that case, Ill just get them back up to what my tap water is and leave it there..
thanks

Just maintain stable ph my ray tank I use direct tap water and Seachem Prime every 3 days water change 30%. My ph always around 7.4 but with help of good filter media BioHome Plus and coral chip act as buffer to maintain the ph.

damn that prob costs some seriuos money!
I use my tap water it comes out high but it stays constant so they are fine.

with the exception of these scary few days

ya, I use gallons of bottle water to do changes.. yes it is getting espensive..
reason was that I was told rays needed 6.8 - 7.2 range. If ithis is not the case, then Id sure like to know. Ive tested my tap and it runs 7.8 range...
If rayss can live ok in that, great, Ill do small changes over the next month and get them use to it by bringing it slowly up.
would save me alot of money since I have 4 stingray tanks Ive been doing this to

Where are you at in MO? if you age your tap water for changes in a separate container ( aka rubbermaid brute) . You will find your tap water's PH will drop over time on its own.. Rays are big waste producers so the Nitrates produced will be dropping the PH as well...

main thing is consistency...you'll find depending upon what part of MO your in you have more issues with GH levels and nitrates from the tap if you ever think about a breeding program.:nilly:
