Ph problem for Pacu

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There is simply no way this is real. It wouldn't be possible. Pics, or go troll else where.

Ok, that make me believe that your tank is uncycled, you can't read a test kit, or your lying. Also how could you torture those two fish by making them live for a year in a 30g? For the last time, pacus are tolerant of pH. Its your crappy water quality.

Well, a test kit is what we have been working with for several years. What is your suggestion? No, we are not lying we are going by what we see from the test results through the test kit. We do know how to use the test kits. We didn't join this forum to be insulted or for the more experienced fish keepers to be condescending. We are asking because the forum is experienced and will enlighten us on what we need to do in order to keep our fish alive and thriving.

Pacus need about 300 gallons of water EACH.

Is your test kit the kind with dip sticks or liquid reagents?

It isn't possible for your nitrates to be zero. Either your test kit is useless, you can't use it, or you are lying.

Two large pacu in a 30g, your obviously going to have high readings. Not 0's. Run to a hardware store and buy a rubbermaid stock pond, they're $50 for a 100g. Set it up and keep the pacu in there until you can upgrade to a large tank, 150g+.

lets stuff you in a closet where you have to croutch to stand up this is how the fish feel right now they cant turn around

common sense obviously isnt so common anymore:screwy:\

they need a 600 gallon tank to live properly would u shove a puppy in a toolbox ? no you wouldnt but when its a fish its differnet right ? ERR wrong there living creatures if you want to own one do it properly

Seconded. I want to see this fish that is more than half the lenght of it's tank and a third longer than it is wide...

Okay, the wife is wrong. 13" for the larger one and 8" for the smaller. Forgive the wrong measurements. They truly are in a 30 gallon approximately (36" X 16 X 12) tank for quick measuring. The larger Pacu was nearly dead from someone else's tank. The smaller Pacu we have had since the size of a half dollar. We hope to move them into the 120 gallon in about a month.

Go get a bin and move them tonight.

What you are doing is called animal abuse. There is no other term that applies.

Don't buy a 120, buy a 500 gallon tank.

They won't live for a month in that 30g. Buy a rubbermaid stock pond from a hardware store. 100g pond is roughly $50. Put them in there with existing filter and add more filters too it.

Okay, that is slightly more realistic...although still way too small a tank for a fish that size. So you just got the new, huge one recently?
