Pic Of My Snake Head ...

They can get to around 3 foot in captivity. Now they are a fairly flexible fish obviously, and at those large sizes are not OVERLY active (but still pretty active), so you're not going to need a 5 or 6 foot wide tank, but you should be looking at a 4 foot wide tank for a fish that can reach 3 foot.

Something like a 10 by 4.

When I was a kid I had a 2 foot micro, and by that time it had started to look cramped in a 180, so my dad gave it to someone with a bigger tank.

this is probably the worst species of fish to buy without doing prior research...

wish i could have a snake head their illegal here where i live,we them when i was younger i wish they made them legal again anyway nice snake head.

They are illegal in US period. And for good reason, people were getting them and did not have the right size tanks, the ability and/or means to care for them. So they release them into the wild where the decimate whole populations of natives in lakes and other bodies of water. Better husbandry responsibility would have prevented this and other bans.
Enough of my rant, I like snakeheads and at one time would liked to have owned one. Good Luck and nice fish.
