Picked up Koi today....

Yeah those sure nice pond Koi, I really wouldn't worry about people who keep show Koi. It's kind of like I would be more then happy with a Motoro stingray someday as some only want the high dollar breeds. Doesn't mean I can't have a beautiful Motoro only that it's not going to wow stingray keepers who have 1000 plus dollar ones.

Doesn't bother me at all. I got these for basically free so I couldn't bye happier! I built the pond for natives and then I stumbled across these koi. I could always turn around and sell them to someone but my wife likes the colors so I'm going to finish my big tank in my basement and still be happy.

You can always mix them with the natives! Still liked your setting with tilapia and crabs.

The koi are in there with them. I thought the channel cats would be a problem with the koi but they seem to get along pretty good, especially since most of the koi are bigger. The tilapia hang around the koi now and when I feed the koi the tilapia come up to the top and eat the same food. The white perch are still buzzing around but I don't know how they will manage with the channel cats....the cats haven't bothered them all this time so I'm surprised.

Yes some time we find good deals here to last week I got 3, 20" to 24" one was hi utsuri butterfly. Other one is tancho and one is kinda red and white finds not sure about the names I got 40 $ each.

I can say u got those koi for free
