They can be carnivorous, and hurt other corals. They are two ways of defense/offense that I know of when it comes to corals. 1) They sting nearby corals 2) they release a small amount of toxin. They are very interesting, and there can be a lot to read when it comes down to it, but I think they are worth the time and effort.

Most corals are really easy to grow. To be honest, if you are keeping your tank as clean as it should be, have the right lights, and nothing is pestering them, they should do well.

Simple animals with simple needs.

For a predatory tank you could easily do soft corals...and maybe others. Triggers and groupers would bother corals. Neither will lionfish. I have had them all in reefs. Just remember that its easier to keep a reef with cleaner crews, and these will be some of the first things to get eaten by your preds.

what can i say, youre a smart guy :D

oh btw, question...

i have 30 lbs of sand and its dry aragonite by caribsea, technically not "live", would i benefit from getting more sand? This time should i get the wet, "live" kind? It's 30 lbs in a 37, but the footprint isn't too big.
I don't mind waiting a bit longer if i have to for cycling
