wat should i keep the temp at?

I'd say 70-75 should be an ok range for them. Nothing too hot or too cold. I used to keep mine at room temperature and they were fine.

I was unsuccessful at getting them to eat prepared foods, but they would gladly eat feeder fish. I am sure someone else here probably was successful in converting them to prepared foods.

I was able to convert mine over to raw market shrimp and hikari carnivore floating pellets. It took some time but was worth it in the end. If you thaw a piece of shrimp and shape it to be minnow like, the pickerel will strike and swallow. Eventually it will eat it especially if you dont' feed for 5-7 days. They'll take to the pellets not so long after that.

when hes small maybe once or twice a day

thanks guys
how often should i feed him also?

I just throw in a bunch of feeders and bingo. Nature takes its course. I just wish I got him when he was a little smaller. Id have better chances at converting him to reg food.
