Hi guys yesterday I brought this lil guy home and put him in a 55g grow out. I tried feeding him sliver sides yesterday and just now. I tried hand feeding him both accessions the 2nd time today he showed intrest when I just droped in the fish and I thought it would be good to help him out. I grabbed the fish out of the water and tried hand feeding. He got scared. Should I drop in some blood worms or squid for now (without hand feeding haha ) or would It be fine to try the silver sides again tomorrow without a feeding tonight? Can they go a pretty long time without food?

Lol,maybe the viewers are confused at your username...anywho,I wouldn't worry too much about the young turtle eating since you have just brought it home.Give it a few days to settle in and feel comfortable in its new home then it should start eating.

Lol Okay thanks guys I'll try tomorrow evening hopefully he will be super hungry!!! If he doesn't eat I'll leave the silver side in there, I'll keep the thread updated
Just cut a silver side in half and dropped him in there, he is still asleep right now. If he doesn't eat it by tonight should I drop some feeders in there tomorrow? He is about 2"inches give or take (she'll length )
Two inches,boy that's really small.I wasn't aware that hatchlings were even that small.Try some small earthworms but make sure they are not collected from an area that is treated with any kind of chemicals.

At the lfs he was eating feeders already. He is pretty big out of his shell. Like I said give or take but I know he's a hatchling or a yr old
