Pics attached - what would you make of this

Rusty Cichlid. Into my tank yesterday morning. He didn't have this, nor did he last night, nor did he this morning. It's happened/developed in the last 8 - 10 hours.

Water is Ph 7.8, Ammonia & Nitries 0, Nitrates less than 10, more than 5. PWC this evening, because Ammonia and Nitrites had rised to less than .25, more than 0, Nitrate to less than 20, more than 10. Figured this was my biofilter catching up with the addition of this guy plus 3 others.

Tank mates are similar sized (1 1/2 - 2 inch) malawi.

Could they have given him a nip ? I'd much prefer that than if he's got a tumour or something.

don't know why he looks so bloated - strange angle on the picture, which isn't great. He doesn't look like that

Just over his right eye...

We'll need a clear picture, not a blurry one, to see this.

Due to the blurriness, we cant tell if it's a injury or a parasite.

Does it look to be attached, and waving around with water movement, or is it just a white mark on his head?

attached - so you're not looking at like a cut above the eye there, you're looking at a semi-circle of raised...tissue I guess...like a frond
