Hey guys,
Need some help with divider ideas. Searched through threads. I tried egg crate with suction cups and didn't work real good. Male keeps knocking it over. It's for an 8'x3'x30". Female bd is getting pretty chewed and time to separate for a bit. Any pics or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Rays are about 16".

Time to build another tank.:D

Not much out there that holds adult rays back except for a divider I seen made out of plexiglass and was professionally cut to fit the tank from front to back and had holders siliconed inside the tank to hold it into place. When it was needed all you had to do was slide it in place. He used it in a bare bottom tank.

Google..."plexiglass aquarium dividers" and you will see quite a few options.

Something like this would work too...http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?92059-Tank-Divider-PlexiGlass Probably best bet for quickest one you could add to your tank if you are in a hurry.

Buy these and cut and drill your own plexiglass.

Glad i am not the only one lol.
I had the same problem, i see people using egg crate and wonder how the hell they keep it in place, suction cups don't last, magnet cleaners can help but are expensive and i also don't like the gaps they leave between the divider and glass, it may keep and adult ray in place but a pup will just slide through from one section to the other and we need to protect the pups as much as the adult rays.
I used lengths of plumbing pipe and hard plastic netting that is designed to be put over ponds to stop Herons getting to the fish. Very sturdy material and can be cut to size easily, then cable tied this to the plastic pipes. I used 1/2" or so pipe as it was all i could get on-line quick but you could use smaller. Not the best pic to see the divider but you can see it is pretty sturdy. I use filter foam wedged in everywhere to stop it being moved but the rays still manage to blow this out and i have to re-jig things every few days!

With my egg crate divider I keep rocks at the bottom on both sides to prevent them from pushing in the bottom I then put a mag float at the front of the tank holding it in place and then the back I usually put up against the overflow in my tank and put a zip tie through the egg crate and attach it to my overflow. I've never had it knocked over yet. Depending how you have it you can also tie off the top with zip tie or rope.

Cpvc, pvc, and abs are safe for drinking water from what the interwebs say.
