Pics of my new and first piranha

Ya my spilo is about 9 days, and my elong is about 4 days. I know, just was curious to see how fast yours ate. :)

Good pic up at a awsome price too.
A 75 would be just fine for a home grown rhombeus. If you can do the 90, by all means get that. The extra inches height are always welcomed. But that tanks 48"x18" footprint is as small of a tank as most would recomend keeping a small to medium sized rhom in for the long run.
In aquariums, these fish do not grow to lengths like seen in the wild. You've probably already read a great deal on the subject. Not to say it can't be done, but I've never heard of someone growing a rhom to anything over 12" tank raised. 10" is hard enough to reach with the species speratic and slow growth rates.
But what an amazing fish to own.

congrats, man. I lost my elong last night :irked: I'm convinced the planted 75 it was in is posessed. All kinds of algae and snail problems; I can't get proper oxygenation or the CO2 working enough; I lost 2 p-bass in there. It's so frustrating.

is that the one from AquaMart?

Aw man, that does suck. Are you going to keep trying to get a successful planted tank, or do you give?

I got the Rhom at South Broadway Tropicals. More often than not, they have Rhoms around 6 inches. I got the last one they had, but I think they get them in pretty often if you are interested.

thanks. I'll miss it for sure, but I'll get another some day, hopefully one that's already 10 inches.

I think I may put everything in my 40 just to make it easier, but I still want to try and that will have to wait until the p-bass outgrow it. i need to get the oxygen and co2 going good. Nothing is really dieing, but nothing is growing, either. I'm not going to give up (yet), I just need to spend some more time on it and sort it out.
