Just letting you know that if your Texas reaches a sub-adult size it will probably kill everything else in the tank (if the nitrates don't... and if lack of salt doesn't kill the eel).

then i will be a cool fish
and if you look at the the post you would know my nitrates are down and the eel is fine

That's the other thing... it takes such a lack of maturity to keep a fish that you think is cool just because it will kill everything else (especially when you're willing to let it do that for no purpose). Even piranha keepers don't have this complex.

It's like those people who keep rotweilers and pitbulls and bull dogs and dobermen just because they like having tough dogs, as if they're compensating for something else.

The eel is not fine. It might look fine, but it is not fine. Look, let's do a little experiment. That eel is brackish, and you're forcing it to live in freshwater. Let's do the opposite for you. You normally drink fresh water, but start drinking brackish water. See how long you last. (And I REALLY hope you're smart enough to realize I'm being sarcastic, and you won't ACTUALLY try it, but will at least see the point I'm trying to make.)

i has the ability to do it so why cant it snook can do it snapper , tarpon, jacks, flounder, sheephead, sand perch, bull sharks the list goes on and on all this fish live in salt water but go into fresh and live their fine.
and why is that bad that i like to see fish eat other fish when i fish i have fun throwing small fish into the water a watching other fish tar them up and so do the other 800000 people i know. the coolest thing i have ever seen is 4 bull sharks come and fight over a tuna and ripe it to pieces

There are fish who have evolved the ability to switch between fresh, brackish, and marine environments. Not ALL fish possess this ability. Because the snowflake usually occupies the lower end of the brackish spectrum, it can survive for some time in a fresh water environment, but it will always be more prone to disease. It will get easily stressed. It's not an environment conducive to it thriving.

But you know what? You obviously know more than the rest of us. So keep doing things your way. I'm sure everything will turn out fine.

LMAO this thread is still open and people are still flaming this kid? AMAZING!

And until he realizes that things are not fine and that he is forcing animals to live in an unfit environment for his own amusement.... he will continue to get flamed.

I don't understand why he's being flamed for liking to see predatory nature in action. By nature most of us love the adrenaline rush we feel watching predator vs prey.

I'm not a fan of feeding something that will be eaten slowly and piece by piece, but more fish that eat suction-wise like pbass, ca/sa cichlids, groupers, etc.
