I was under the impression all the hybrid catfish were hormone induced, farm bred.

this is what i thought as well, are there such things as these kind of hybrids in the wild??

either way though its a pretty awesome looking cat!!!

It is a farm fish, just another vendor with the "wild caught more expensive" label.

It is possible to get fish hybrids in the wild, but it would be unimaginably rare. More rare than platinum, melanistic, leusistic, or albino fish. Near impossible, but not quite impossible. There would be no way to tell if it came from the wild unless you could actually track where the fish are comming from. If the vendor is getting them from asia like most hybrid catfish then it's about 100% likely it's manmade. If it came from South America then it's still probably about 99.9999999% likely to be manmade. As far as I can tell most of the hybrid catfish come directly from asia.

yeah i knew you could get like natural cichlid hybrids and stuff like that (albeit still rare) just didnt think any of the catfish interbred with out the hormone treatments the farms use
