Picture of myself.......

puffergirl, I'm going to be learning as I go with this little project, so I'm gonna need all the help you can give. I wont even ask for a picture in return. Next week I am going to buy the sand. I saw a post concerning sand so if I find it I'm gonna follow their instructions. Anybody know where I can get that nice green puffer with the red eyes up above on this page?

Posted a pic of myself today actually..... It's floating around here somewhere. The most common puffers you will find are green-spotted, crazy eights, and dwarf puffers. Next after that are the red eyes. My fish store I always go to have red-eyes come in about once a month. They usually know in advance what will be coming in.

I was just kidding about the picture... but I did look just because it's cool to see who you're talking too. very cute... :-) work on becoming a puffer master so that I can get some guidance.

Supposedly sand is better for them because they suck when they eat and may take in gravel. I must warn you though....... The sand isn't fun to clean!!!! For a 10 gal your all right though!!!!
I found a couple places that usually have them or the other dwarf redeye (C. irrubesco) that gets to 2" (those go for $9.30 ea.) and are easily sexed as the males and females are differently colored. They are known to spawn in tanks as small as 5g. Both places are currently out of stock but carry them as a regular item so you should not have too long a wait. They are www.**************** and www.fish2u.com. the price and these pics of male and female irrubesco are from the latter site. (the darker one is the male)
I might have to try a pair of these myself.

Saw mine online being sold for around $50 and got mine for $8 at my lfs. It was being sold as a red-eye and after I did my research I tried talking to the manager and he STILL insisted that mine is a red-eye.... He told me that they are getting in some more "red-eyes" on the 20th so I'm definitely going to go check them out.... Anyone in the Cleveland area interested let me know and I'll keep you posted!!!

Oh, check with ornatapinnis, not long ago he was getting these little guys.

I gotta find them online, my guy doesnt sell them, and the last thing I got from a chain store, my green terror, is not lookin healthy. I want a puffer with charisma. so I agree.
