My oscar kills everything in sight
He just killed the Oscar 2 inches smaller then him
Read my other post to read about that but i think
They could coexist nicley
thanks alot guys

i would rethink getting a reddevil. i had one that beat up 2 full grown oscars and had to get rid of it.. keep in mind that a 55 gallon is the minimum size you want to use for just one oscar- and no matter how you arrange his tank, trust me- he will rearrange it for you ! lol.. i love oscars..i miss having them.
definately a black background, and maybe a floating plant or a chunk of driftwood in there.. and a bigger pot lol.. best of luck- its a good start..

Is that Dragon Bamboo in your tank? didn't know that would grow under water. I'd get some, but my fish would no doubt tear it up.

I have a peice of that bamboo, got it at a fair at 6'' and had it fully under water.
Its almost 2' now. I might add it to my aquarium.

Some people say not to submerge them, but mine grew fine that way and its half submerged now..

that's the second time I saw some in an aquarium. I thought the leafs couldn't be submerged. maybe I'll try it out. maybe not. I know my fish would just destroy it.

i like it
i put it in and the water
cleared up in about 2 hours
the extra oxygen in the water is great

well i think its different for other types of bamboo. i have bamboo trees at my work and they die if you over feed them water. they are outside being dried off. they were brown when we had them inside but slowly they are turning green again.

Yeah.... i have a "tough" oscar too. He beat up the other oscar i got with him when he was a baby and killed an adult oscar i tried to pair him with when he was an adult.

But TRUST me. An Oscar and a Red Devil in a 55 is asking for trouble. They might do fine for a few months. But once that RD starts to get some weight on him, he'll demolish your pansy ass little oscar.

He might seem tough now, but they always are against other oscars. When it comes to Oscars vs. other aggressive cichlids. More often than not, they turn their wussy little butts and run.
My Oscar who is 13" now, lets a 7" Loisellei push him around.

But go ahead and try it. I really dont care either way. But at least i said " I WARNED YOU" :D

haha okay guys thanks alot i decided to forget
the red devil
