I just set it up about 4 hours ago
so i am letting the nitrogen Cycle complete
but dont worry the fish and background will come
and as for the bamboo ill get some other small sized
plants to put there instead

Honey, I am soooooooo confused.

Don't know how I missed this thread earlier. I've read your multiple other threads.

So, you set up the tank on June 12 at around 3:30 PM. Today, by the way, is June 15. Sometime between June 12 and June 15, you have added at least 2 Oscars to the tank and ordered 12 RBP. Don't know exactly what else might be in this tank since the details seem to be trickling out slowly.

My question is, when exactly did you cycle this tank and how did you accomplish it with such lightning speed. You mentioned that you were "letting the nitrogen cycle complete." I didn't get the impression that you had another established tank, so how did you seed the tank with nitrifying bacteria, and how did you accelerate the cycle so rapidly?

I hope you are not trying to cycle that tank with your one oscar, I would estimate at least 8 weeks would be needed to complete, if the oscar happens to survive that long. Hopefully you have some better answers, otherwise, this is for you: Right side - :nutkick: Left side -:nutkick:

Apparently you are avoiding sharing this information, and now I see that you have a dragon goby???

looks good, just needs a back ground and it will be perfect

okay the answer is simple
I used my aquaclear 500 and my whisper 350
filters on this tank
now the point of the nitrogen cycle is so
the filtere build up beneficial bacteria to keep the
fish alive but theese filters have been in use for
over 3 months in another tank so they have all the
bacteria they need and there is only one oscar in the
55 gallon tank and he is with one pleco and one goby
the 12 piranha are going in a 125 gallon tank that i recentley bought
that i am currentley cycling since the piranha will not arrive for another week
there is your answer hope this clears things up

Yes, that clears things up a little, now I'm wondering what's in the tank that the filters came out of?

not a bad tank keep in mind draong gobys need light brackish water for long term health some will survive in freshwater but 95% get sick over and over again and end up dyeing

1 oscar and some good lookin kind of silver dollars and boom

the goby will NOT be compatible with an oscar-they require different water parameters. so the tank that the two oscars came from, what size was that tank? and whats in that tank now that the oscars are gone?

and do you already have a 125 gallon set up? -you must since you already ordered fish for it.. did you get the dozen piranhas you ordered yet? you will have to keep them by themselves in that 125. they will kill an oscar if you try to put it in there. i dont know if you know but piranhas eat fins and tails of other fish.

oh i see you responded to Liz today in another post about feeding your 12 piranhas so you must already have them and they are in the 125.

god i wish i could cycle a tank in just a few hours! you must be a magician! lol

btw you should get some updated pics of your tanks! i dont see anything in that 55 gallon in your avatar, and i cant wait to see your 125 now that you have it set up and stocked! i cant wait to see your piranhas-i love those fish, but im too afraid to own any.. those teeth.. lol

pics please or else some ppl wont believe you on here! lol
