Anyone want to guess what these are? The previous owner bought them from LFS and they didn't have an ID for them...They're about 12 inches...David

I dont know, but they look really nice.....Congrats...PP or someone will chime in on this. Look like a ven, strig or something of that nature....

I was thinking that too, but I wasnt sure......Gill plates and head structure sure look like it.

maybe even Atabapo, non fire, the Trapajo one like Oddballs and MTN's

Also, If you had to guess as to the sex of these two fish what would you say? Here are two more pics posted in the same order(ie. 1st fish is the same fish posted 1st above, etc)

now i think no on the t-red because don't they have an oclated spod on their tail fin? sixmaybe you hit it a regular atabapo

Yeah, maybe man.....they are nice looking but really washed out. Give them a few days and post pics again. The 2nd one maybe female, I think i see the hint of a white stripe in that fin but it's so washed out I cant tell. Try putting a black back ground on that tank, it may help because the white back ground may be washing out there colors.

don't think they're washed out from the background. if he just got them, they're still getting used to the new tank. or like my fire, only shows at certain times. 12" and no color... could be their color. They prob look better in person.

try getting pics during or after feeding and right when the lights come on. or while the lights are off.

I've had them for quite some time...They used to be lighter in color than that. They might very well be two females, so I guess it's not that important what species they are-though I'm curious..
"sp. atabapo" was a guess I've heard elsewhere, and also "sp. venezuela" ...David
p.s. they're definitely one of my least attractive pikes as far as color/pattern goes-but I like them :)
