Pike Questions...

You can always try, you never know how your pike will be until you get it. But if the pike gets big enough to try to eat the cat, then the cat may end up killing the pike with it's spine.:(

A pleco that gets about the same size as the Sveni would be fine. Tiger barbs might get eaten they don't grow as fast as the pikes. My pike has grown 2" in 5 weeks. Just thought you might like an idea of the growth rate.

All pikes become owner responsive in time...;). The barbs are fairly large, and deep bodied, so they might be alright with the sveni for a while, but eventually they probably will get eaten. Keep them in at least groups of six, the larger the group the better. That way they will take all their aggression and nippin out on each other instead of on the other fish in the tank...;) You should try bueno aires tetras, they are longer bodied, and grow larger...;). Most tetras are gonna be labeled as food though, or barbs. It can get annoying constantly replacing them though, so maybe investing in a type of silver dollar...black bar, red spot, red hook, common...or something along those lines might be a better idea.

Hey peanut! I was wondering where you were! But don't silver dollars get big for a 40g breeder?

40gal will be a little small yeah...haha....missed that little tid bit of information...my bad. Go bigger man, 75gal for shore!! ;). Gold nugget would be aight, but you would want it to be at least 4"...that way it will grow fast enough to keep up with the pikes moderately and be less of a potential meal. Never underestimate the hunger and belly capacity of a Crenicichla.
