if your fish is happy and healthy without salts, i really see no point in adding salt. it would do more harm then good for them.

Each person has their own views and opinions about it. Personally I have seen the benefits of adding salt and thus will continue to use it. At first i was skeptical and really nervous, but now i don't even think about it. Its all really personal preference. Your tanks are YOUR tanks. Noone can tell you what to or what not to do. You have the final say in the end! ;)

Im not gonna tell people how to run their tanks, but I have MAJOR color enhancement after 24hrs of salting. Im sort of doing a comparison, with other pikes in planted tanks, which will remained unsalted. So far Im liking the salted pike thing alot.

hmmmm well i'll be bumdiggitydogged, i didn't think it would make much of a difference.

can u post before and after pics

dude, seriously, give it up. you're like the people who keep sayin a tank is crowded. If YOU dont do it than cool.

He's entitled to have his own opinion. Some people, actually a lot of people agree with him on the matter. Its really not important whose right or whose wrong. I think Africans make great feeders  , but alot of people don't like that. Its all about personaly preference and opinion! He does have a point, it is CHEAPER to NOT do salt, and the fish will be just fine without it, just as healthy. There is also no proven fact that fish with the salt are going to be better off than fish with out it. I think it has a lot to do with the security you get from adding the salt as you know there will be a little more 'protection' for your fish...haha

but ya dont have to keep repeating it, that was my point. said he read it, showed an article then said it again. which is why I compared him to the over crowded crew...;)

good for you rob

well, saying twice isn't really overkill.....i mean if you thought u knew something that might help out a fellow fishkeeper, wouldn't u say it more then once?

also, sometimes its necessary to point out if a tank is overstocked. problems aren't just going to go away if you don't fix what made them, or it could just make some fish happier.
