its probably just a bit of irritation caused from friction against ur elaborate decor.
Think so ? Its a bare bottom but it has a few lava rocks and zebra rocks / flower pots. Think that could be the issue?

Oh its also worth noting this tank has an 18 watt turbo twist UV with a new bulb wouldn't that decrease the amount of bacterial infections ?

oh you got me with the edit. I thought you were ribbing me lol. That is entirely possible he does get kinda jumpy on occasion. What would be the best treatment for this ? I got everything in the cabinet... Melafix pimafix fungus clear , para guard, clout , ick clear , parasite clear you name it. But I don't want to have to remove my purigen so Id rather stick with salt and maybe extra prime to help the slime coat reheal ? This seem feasible ?

i would just keep the water clean, like u usually do and monitor it. there's no need for treatment unless significant signs of stress are being shown. if the bichir is healthy the irritation should clear up on its own. it doesn't look serous at all IMO. however, it is a picture of a bichir at a Rave...:D

 sorry again for the quality. Ill keep the water changed 50% twice a week. Hopefully it clears up. I was worried it was some kind of a parasite eating his insides. As you can see I am my bichirs biznitch

Perhaps :headbang2 But is it adequate ? :(

I would use half dose of salt and stress coat. Stress coat is not the same as prime. They sell the one by Aqua Nova that label stress coat. I see a lot of fish store use this when bagging up fish. If you decide you're going to use medication then you need to unplug the UV.

Removing lava rock. I will add some salt and do 2-50% water changes a week hoping for the best. Yeah the UV can break down meds hopefully I won't need them quite yet :( So what do you guys think it is ?
