  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just letting you know...

would work nfine with a JD in a 55 till it out grows it

a barred midas may be to aggressive

and plecos should be just fine with them but how big of plecos they make a pretty good size bio load

The Plecs are 9'' and 11'' should be getting rid of them soon, of to a friends pond!

Not sure If I'm still getting the Chal, I may be getting a JD, GT and Con for the 55. Who knows? Maybe, maybe not. I'll have to see this weekend when I hit up my LFS'.

Howdy,

I think they'll get too big for a 55 gal! Watch a video from a huge showtank in the Frankfurt Zoo HERE. That doesn't mean they can't be kept at home, but a 55 gal might be a bit tight.

I have 2 Chalceus. They are jumpy/skittish. they dont bother the other fish in my 100 gallon. They have not grown much in a year, I got them at 5-6 ". My Jack Dempsey was docile. He ate pellets. He did not bother the other fish. Sometimes fish behaviour is trial and error. I have a dystocodamus that is suppose to be highly aggresive and hes is an angle.

I did not get it.
Still might though.
The tank in that vid is so awesome HarleyK
Whats the bumble-bee striped fish near the bottom, next to the flagtail? I'd like to know more about it if possible

From the post above, that is a Leporinus fasciatus, often dangerous to other fish although some say they have little problems with them, many more say they do.
