ok so you have also tried silversides. One member that has tried silversides and got his filas to eat is tripletail..........his 4 filas eat cut up silversides.

I am gonna try store bought beef and chicken heart and see if mine will eat it like yours do. I'll try shrimp sometime too.

I know last time I tried worms, they never even ate it.
 
Hey randy, if mine refused silversides again, I'm gonna make sure the tank has no more feeders or that they eat them all and then try frozens again because there is nothing else for them to eat so they will have to eat it probably.
 
Randy, dang it, third time and they didn't take any of the silversides!!!!!

Mine are too picky or something!!!!
 
NO FEEDERS,dont feed them for a couple of days 2-3days and see what happen..GL bro.;)
 
thanks, next time I try feeding frozen, I will make sure there is no more feeders at all in the tank so they will be hungry and try it
 
Hey guys, do your filas still have spots on its body??? My biggest one doesn't and its body is more of a solid gray color now.........anyone elses like that?? Maybe its my tank (all gray) or because mine is maturing? Smaller ones still have spots all over.

Oh yeah, last night I was able to see my filas eat some feeders. They seem to be ambush predators........waiting till the fish get closer and closer, then BAM in 1 second the fish is gone. Saw 2 filas doing that........waiting for the fish to get closer and closer.
Pretty cool to see that. Mine are secretive on their eating habits so it was neat to see.

if they all get to 400 lbs you'll have a ton of fish right there lol.
