Piraibia Catfish?

Does anyone on here actually keep any? (I am talking about the 300 pound catfish from the amazon...)
I am very curious! Never seen them in the aquarium trade!

There's a few floating around...the real ones are around $1-3k if I'm not mistaken. Their price in turn gives you very few owners. There is a similar species of cat more available. it stays smaller and was thought to be the true species of piraiba until recently.

How's the growth rate on that guy Collin? I figured it would have been quite swift, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
 
Based on what I've seen, a lot of the longer living, larger growing catfish are notoriously slow growers. Even goonches growth rate isn'll that fast. I suppose it's all relative to length of life

I too have come to this conclusion. Given the growth rate of some of the other larger pims however, I rather expected that the king of the SA catfish would grow quickly as well. It doesn't surprise me if they grow slowly though.
