wow! Why would put all those fish in the tank together. Lets see, don't feed thise same Piranha' for awhile and then throw the others in and lets see what will happen.

i think they are awesome, just gotta starve them a little...though I'd like to see a one v. one with a fahaka puffer

Mannies are the most agressive...right up there with triggers. For entertainment I once threw a very large 4 inch plus bucktooth tetra into my trigger tank which contained a clown, an undelatus and a piccaso, all of equal size and watched the triggers chase that tetra for 30 minutes with no luck, I then left the room, and when I came back, now I don't give a rats ass who believes me, that bucktooth was chasing the triggers around the freakin tank. INCREDIBLE: nilly:

hey if u dont like pirahnas dont come onto the p thread and talk trash many of us enjoy them. its a fish, not a damn lion. if u buy p just to watch them devour everything in sight then you arent getting the true nature of the fish.

yeah true to the lion and nature of the fish part.. it doesnt really matter whether a fish is overrated or not. if a person likes to keep it then let it be.

I can only be crazy about Ps if I see em' in large groups in monster tanks. A 1,000g or bigger tank with river bank scaping looks awsome.

Piranhas are not over rated.

the owners are.

they expect too much with the fish.

do some research first before purchasing them.

exactly i could not have put it better myself.
i have owned loads of piranha including all the pygos and a few serras and out of all of the ones i have owned a simple red belly natt was the most aggressive out of the lot and so much so i had to trade it.
it was tank bred 8'' and lived with a 7'' piraya, 2 8'' caribe and a 7'' brazillian wild caught red belly natt, the final straw was when it attacked my piraya taking part of its eye.

The most aggresive P I saw was an elongus that would finger chace all day. I personally owned a 6" rhom that would get pretty pissed if I got close to his tank but didn't like to feed in front of me. I personally like P's and would start up a new tank in a heart beat if I had the space.

Piranhas are kind of like pit bulls, the media makes them out to be evil but in the end they are far more docile.
