Piranha for 55 gal

Good choice.
I'd recommend getting him around 4" or less if possible. Not alot of people have grown this species out past 7" in a aquarium. The smaller you get him the more enjoyment watching him grow.
 
i knew those rbp would eventually end up in your rip signature.... why do you have so many fatalities?

Not even close. 55 is fine for an elong.
Maybe your talking about the pics above. Thats not a 55.

I guess I don't know who your talking to.

idk, but they didnt die because I had two together and not because they were in the wrong sized tank. So your reasons that you said they would die for were wrong. I did find some old food in the bottom of the tank behind some rocks this might be the cause. :(

I agree, it may take me a while to find one that small but I think aquascape has them from time to time.
 
Ash in Dearborne occassionally has some around 4"-5". Might be worth checking out seeing you're in MI.
