reviews of the Tahitian Moon sand says that its hard to maintain and it gets in filters. i dont wanna wreck my filters lol. ugh i want my tank to look spectacular!!

I've read negative reviews of my Moonsand but I've had it in there for 6 months with no issues. It's just like with anything, one person loves it, the other hates it, you should be fine. You just have to be a tad more careful when cleaning and doing a vac as not to stir up a sand storm. It's a lot easier to siphon out uneaten food and waste because it always settles on top of the sand.

Also I would just keep the intake of your HOB filter farther away from the sand surface. Mine is about 4" from it and has been fine.

If you do buy from Petsmart.com make sure to search this link for some coupons, even the expired ones work sometimes:

get color quartz if you can.. its very nice sand.. i have 50 lbs split between my 75 and my 45.. it was like 20 bucks for 50 lbs.. looks nicer than alot of sand ive seen..

if people that have black sand could post a pic of their tank or a link to a pic of your tank i would really appreciate it

it was when i first set it up so i didn't have the powerhead kickin up the poo.. its all good now except for 1 dead spot that i made on purpose..

call more places... i think the t grade is more coarse and larger..

personally i like the smaller spherical shape of the s grade

well based on the website there were only 4 venders in within an hour driving distance. 3 dont pick up their phone. lol.
