Do everyone a favor and NEVER RELEASE NONNATIVE SPECIES INTO THE WILD!

One more note on this, even if it is a native and you want to release it, make sure that you release it into the same resevoir into which you got it. If you don't know where it came from, you should euthanize it before releasing it into the wild. Different bodies of water contain a different assortment of fishes, and you could upset natures balance by releaseing a native species where it does not belong, just as you can by releasing a nonnative species.

Someone should create a thread, and it should be made into a sticky. This is important. If you don't want your fish, someone here will take them.

im from michigan, people do catch piranha every year, although in that paper it said huchinson lake, that lake is a natural spring lake. it is over 100ft deep and is FREEZING year round. water is clear as hell but even hard to swim in the middle of summer. great lake but any tropical fish would die almost instantly. i dont think it ever gets over 50 degrees. and thats being generous.

I dont think that is was a Piranha, That seems just to cold.

I couldn't get the article b/c the home town paper doesn't have a website. Thank God I moved away from there.
