My sympathies I lost my big stud male to a brain tumor. I'll check quailhavens web site . I'm looking for the foundation line; there where a couple of well known lines (kennels) in the late 80's early 90's that dominated the breed / show circuit.

I'm curious if some of those show winners threw some recessive cancer DNA around.....

yeah all i know is capones dad was allstars mugzy malone if that helps

beautiful pits everyone! i love the pics!

i have to say, people will argue this pit bull aggression issue to the grave, but i believe it all comes back to the owner. if a dog is not raised in violence and neglect (and it is well socialized with humans, other dogs and small animals)-it won't be aggressive. I have a friend that has 3 pits, and they are great dogs. Ultimately, damage is done to the dog when it is used as a status symbol or guard dog versus a loved pet that isn't hit or kicked around or tied to a chain and ostracized from its "pack".
That being said, it takes a very dominant (alpha) person to own the strong headed pits-all dogs need to be part of a pack with a dominant leader (NOT THEM!) over them-that makes for a mentally stable and calm submissive dog. They thrive off of structure and leadership. This goes for all dogs. even those little ankle biters that are so nasty lol (IMO, those are worse than pits!)

its just my .02 cents, and i know it doesnt matter lol

I agree with you on this issue, it's not the gun but the person holding it.. Same with dogs. Unfortunatley with lawyers being what they are, I could not get home owners insurance w/o a big premium increase if I owned any dog that even resembles a pit or bully breed. Plus they have been banned in most of my surrounding towns and cities....

My hat's off to those responsible owners keeping this loyal canine a part of their family

Ugh, I'll have to post pics some other time, our shepherd attacked her, and her face and ears are pretty chewed up.. I think the shepherd is senile or something, she has attacked our other dogs, but normal dogs would get in a small scrap and get over it, she tries to kill them.. Poor Tink looks like she's forced her way through a thorn bush..
I got them apart on my own by pushing a metal truck/dolly between them and forcing the shepherd to move away. after they calmed down and we cleaned Tink up we re-introduced them, all Tink would do is submit and lick Dutch's mouth.

I checked Dutch over and can find ONE tiny hole where one of Tink K9's got her.. And Dutch is around 14. Tink did nothing to provoke her, she wasn't even looking at her. :/
