wow.. i almost got drawn into the breeding thing.. i'm going to unsubcribe to this thread before i get in trouble..

Well, i have seen breeding stands used on canary dogs and cane corsos. If the gyp is worth the trouble its well served to use it if your breeding alone, or just dont want to deal with a violent gyp.

Well, even though his pedigree does have fighters in it, thats often times the best dogs for any type of work. They are bred sounder than any dog. But i hear ya. Btw, breeding stands are not just for fighters, some females, even am staffs I have seen wont let you breed them at all.

Then they shouldn't be forced to breed, IMHO, there are enough pitties in this world..

alright i wont go on a tyraid...
pitbulls=unconditional love
to all the people who say otherwise **** off.
i bought my first pit 2 months b4 the birth of my son they are and have been inseperable since his birth(partly because he holds onto her tail and gets dragged around the house) my second pit i purchased from a man who asked if i wanted a real "game" dog (a fighter) i couldnt have lived with myself had i let another puppy fall into that horrible lifestyle, after only about a month he is well mannered and socailized w/both people and dogs. my one year old pulls bites steps on steals food anything you could think of he does to these dogs and all they ever respond with is piggyback rides and kisses. i cant stand people who want to take my family members away from me. I guess I got a littlt of course. For those who say "its in their blood" or "they just snap" you dont have a clue about being a responsible pet owner. look into the eyes of this baby-killing beast from hell, and hopefully you'll realize that shes a misunderstood baby whos only goal in life is to love, and be loved.

right on, gamebred is the way to go. and not every pit bull, is a pitbull...they are the OG bulldog, and not all dogs earn the right to be bred anyways.

thats a stupid comment. a dog is a dog.. the best mannered dog ive ever owned was a lab mutt.. in all reality APBT has no real working use that theres not another breed better at. dont get me wrong i love pits. but c'mon man your "hunting dog" pit isnt gunna out perform say a Bluetick or something.. pits were originally bred for fighting and thats what pulls people to them. either you hate them and say theyre all mean & its in theyre blood, or you love them and say its all in how theyre trained.

no dog deserves to be bred IMO. go to a damn shelter and get one. theres dogs getting put down every day that would be just as tough as any pitbull ive ever owned(lazy, couch potatoes lol).

Edit* that red pit is beautiful!!

They're all beautiful(including the human one ;) )... And many people who try to sell "game" dogs have mutts to be honest.
Someone asked me if I want to breed my spayed female with their full bred game Pit, who, to me, looked like a lab boxer mix..

True.

I know of 3 people within 5 blocks of me who breed their pit 'mutts' as I call them, since they certainly don't meet the breed standard at all.
Even if they did, there are plenty that do and they should not be bred.

Sorry, I have nothing to add to the conversation. Here is a picture of my pit/mutt. I'm not sure what she is mixed with but I know she has to be mixed. She was a pound rescue; they didn't have much info on her. She is by far our best dog. The Dobie/mutt in my avatar use to nip at the kids, nothing bad just kind of nips & run from them. The pit I can take her to the dog park, put her around kids, play with her tail, pads of her feet...anything I want and she won’t react negatively. The only problem we have had with her is she like to chew on trees.
