Pit Bulls

I knew a well known nyc show breeder of am staffs and canary dogs. She would cross a pure canary dog with am staffs and say they were pure canary dogs and so on. She would get papers and all, many I seen born. Shelters are the worse at labeling dogs that come in. I saw a pure cane corso go in at a big shelter, only to be labeled a pitbull mix. Just do alot of homework on any breed you plan to get into or pay top dollar for, learn their history really well.

Bulldogs, AKA APBT do vary in size. From 25 pounds to 90 pounds. Above 60 is about as ig as you will frequently see. You will see bigger but VERY rare. Thing is when a REAL APBT gets big, they dont look fat, or low and ippy and un athletic, they often look like this.

Yep.. there was a beautiful near show-quality american bulldog at about 100+ lbs marked as 'pure bred pit bull'.
Mine's papers say she's a Staffordshire Bull Terrier

i didn't read the whole thread.. yet. But i am going to add a pic of my handsome old guy because he is my guy and he just happens to be a pit bull.

he is also the handsome guy in my avatar.

well I guess the same could be said for my dog.

Yep.. but people have a bit less hysteria about Akitas(if that's your dog).. even though they were sued for some of the same things, and still are.
Outside of America, they fight different breeds. Rotties, akitas, GSDs, cane corso's ect.
Unluckily I found the page with pictures about a mile long, and it explained how they pitted a game bred pit against a run-of-the mill Akbash and the akbash choked it to death. The pit was killed in every fight they set up with other larger breeds. Even a german shepherd.
Big time killers, eh?

There is a website as big as MFK dedicated to fighting.. they say they are not.. But you can read on or 2 posts there an know it is, like I read "if *blank* carried a break stick when she was walking her bulldog that lab puppy could have gone home to it's family" Noo.. this is a forum for people who love and don't fight their animals...
