pitbull vs porcupine

Definably an English bull terrier. And as said, they are extremely stubborn and determined dogs. When they go after something, they really go after it. It would not surprise me if it carried on attacking repeatedly in this case…

Poor dog for sure but lets see what the porcupine looks like. At best he is bald!!

Anyway how would you go about treating the dog, the quills have barbs? The little guy is going to need a lot of band aids.

in the wild an animal like this would starve, but luckily for him a LONG stay at the vet should sort him out. probably put him under anesthetic and have to pull the barbs out.

the spines have no barbs and should come out easy ( although it looks like a hoax, to me, because i've seen dogs and porcupines, and no porcupine would cover a dog in barbs in such a manner..look like arrows... )..the dog will be feverish, will get a lot of antibiotics and should be ok in a wek..and never go near a porcupine again...

Of the 26 known porcupine species about 1/3 are New World species, they do have barbed quills. Old World species usually do not have barbs. Here are a pic of one species and a drawing of another, both New world species.

Yeah, I saw your location tag and assumed you were familiar with ones like the Hystrix cristata (European porcupine) which are ground dwelling and unbarbed, most new world ones are tree dwellers.

i am pretty sure that is actually a bull terrier and not a pitbull terrier, they are also called pig dogs by some. they can be just as vicious as pitbuls though and pretty stubborn.
