Hello Everyone,

So I'm finally biting the bullet and getting these. The price put me off but I'm all for it now

Here are a few stats.

1. I have a 6ft 150 gallon tank they will go into with Lace Rock arranged into caves and manzanita wood mixed it over a mix of gravel and pool sand substrate. The caves can be seen in my avatar since I used to keep festae in this tank.

2. I ordered 4 Lents asking for 2M and 2F.

3. pH is just a bit lower than neutral, temp is 81 F, WC's done once a week at 50%.

4. Filtration is an FX5 and a Fluval 406.

5. I have hornwort tied to the wood and floating frog bit mixed with salvinia.

Now here are my questions.

1. Is my 150 big enough for these four?

2. How are my stats?

3. What tank mates can I keep with them?
- I'm looking at True Parrots and Pink tailed Chalceus.

Here is the pic of the tank currently. current inhabitants are a small group of juvie Red Tiger Motas and Buenos Aires Tetras. The RTM's will be moved.

Very nice aquascape! Would look even better if you can hide all the equipments in the background.

I wish i could but this is a thin BG that glues directly to the glass in the back. A sump with an overflow box is an idea.

It may or may not work, considering the lents are up there in aggression. I have a female Atabapo1 and female Johanna, and a 8 foot long tank is not big enough for the both of them even with hiding places. The Johanna goes out of its way to try to destroy the AtabapoI, and will chase her through every hiding place. She doesn't even try to gill flare, she just strikes hard if she can get past the jag. There's other cichlids in the tank that she will gill flare at, but with the Atabapo, she seems to have a desire to kill. They are separated for now until I can get more bulk on the AtabapoI, and they are only 1" apart in length.

I would be prepared for the worst, and have other tanks ready. With 4 you have a higher chance of having aggression spread out from the dominant one.

Fronm what I understand with the larger pikes. If a pair forms the other two or just about anything else will be in trouble in the tank. Any Idea on how big they are coming in at?

The tank looks great BTW.

I'm getting them from Snookn21. They are between 7-8 inches. I might also pick up to Atabapo Reds.

Decisions Decisions. I have a 180 they can go into but I have fish in there currently that I'd like to keep in there along with a fully stocked 220 gallon.

Would the lents make short work of the atabapos?
