They are already flaring and owning on the Parrot and the Oscar. Literally less than 10 minutes out of the bag and they are already establishing their dominance. Amazing!

Congratulation with great pices,i have 3 rio atabapo sp.2 and they have taken away these tankmates:4 c.regani,4 c.saxatilis, some banjo catfishes and
2 of theirs smaller sisters, brothers, and a weak h.psittacus, but still i like them. They are in a 140 gallon with 4 big h.psittacus, and it seems it now are
a hiarcy esthablished.Great fishes with a lot of attitude.I have a lot of hiding places in the tank, think it is god for the peace.
Take a look in my thread:crenicicla rio atabapo sp 2. more down the line, and post pictures, nice to follow.

They're gonna make the oscars life miserable. Cool fish though. My favorite pike.

They prob will. THey certainly dont like the parrot. Oscar seems to be left alone for the moment.

alright. the one with the messed up anus is not eating as well as the others. I put some feeders in there to fatten them up since they look skinny. They went crazy except for the anus one. He/She only ate one and thats after mouthing several and letting them go whereas the others gulped up several at a time.

Any ideas on the issue?

Look around the forums here and you'll find a lot of topics about using Epsom salt on fish who are having issues passing something they've eaten.

Does it look like its having problems doing its business, or an open wound?

If its constipation, Epsom salt will be good for your fish. If its an open wound I'd increase the temp to 84+ and keep a close eye on the fish. Something that'll help kill bacterial infections would be helpful if its a wound.

Not sure if you've quarantined the fish before putting them into your tank, but its usually a good idea as to not give any parasites or illness to your existing fish.

Pics would help to ID the issue in the Disease area of MFK.

Good luck

thanks for the advice Chris. Its people like you that keep me active on this forum.

Glad to help. I loved my lents, really miss them. Will be getting more as soon as I can put together my 300+ just for lents.

Alright, mrrobxc....Post up some pics of your lents! How are they doing, did the one with the swollen bum ever get better?

I will post pics on Sunday. I'm going to move them to my 220. They are mean aholes just like you said. They are all doing great and are all on pellets now. The swollen anus is good now. The fish are mean as hell.

Large pikes, like the lenticulata, require some serious dither considerations. Snookn21 has large Red Hook Metynnis for a great price, and you can check out the rest of his stock on his website. 6 large for $90 + shipping
